![]() Maestros on film Hemant Pithwa's samvad with Classical music began when he was studying at the Sir J J School of Art. It grew by leaps and bounds and he began having a dialogue with Classical music. During the course of his career as a photo -journalist, he had the unique opportunity of witnessing India's greatest Classical maestros performing live in concert. It was during this period that his samvad with Classical music took on a new meaning when he began to follow the masters at every opportunity. His love for Classical music blossomed as he photographed the artistes in great detail. In the process Pithwa realised that when the artistes began performing, he was transported to another universe where the antardhwani elevated him to a state of ecstacy. He highlighted the intense love Classical musicians radiate when they enter into a samvad with their music in his recent exhibition 'Samvad'. |
Ad Works - VI The Advertising Club,Mumbai held `Ad Works - VI', on January 23, at The Taj Ballroom. The best five ads that brought in results were presented and each case was studied in-depth. Though a major industry, only a few of the music companies (multinationals) have been known to use the services of ad agencies. Considering that it's chaotic, unorganised but fiercely competitve, survival in the new millenium will be tough and will need innovation in marketing, packaging, making of inlays, etc. It is high time the music industry bigwigs give these events a closer look and a serious thought.

Sing along Raag & Roll has started a new concept in entertainment called `Karaoke Sing-Along', a popular form of entertainment all over the world. This is the first of its kind in India. Raag & Roll have a huge collection of English and Hindi tracks for Karaoke. |
MTV's `Lift Man' MTV India unleashed its latest brand advertising campaign featuring the `Liftman'. Reaching out to its young audiences with an exaggerated authority figure in the popular `Liftman', MTV further extends its `Enjoy' theme with a series of on-air promotions and off-the-air advertising. The Liftman is a character from everyday life that MTV's target audience is familiar with. His cynical outlook coupled with his exaggerated authoritativeness have made him a popular and entertaining youth icon ever since he first appeared in an MTV on-air promotion in November last year.
